RESUMO O processo de modernização agrícola que ocorreu no Rio Grande do Sul, iniciado nas décadas de 1960 e 1970, gerou transformações consideráveis tanto no sistema de produção agrícola quanto na reorganização espacial das áreas voltadas ao setor primário. Desta forma, esta pesquisa elegeu como laboratório de estudos, dois distritos: Santa Terezinha e Sitio Bento. A metodologia esteve baseada na realização de levantamento bibliográfico referente ao tema proposto, bem como trabalho de campo. Neste sentido, o processo de modernização, analisado nesta pesquisa com o apoio de técnicas de geoprocessamento, no sentido de verificar os atuais usos e ocupações de ambos os distritos, apresentou-se como um importante instrumento, no qual se pode identificar: os diferentes recortes espaciais que se constatou no decorrer desta pesquisa.

ABSTRACT The process of agricultural modernization that it happened in Rio Grande do Sul, begun in the decades of 1960 and 1970, it generated considerable transformations so much in the system of agricultural production as in the space reorganization of the areas returned to the primary section. This way, this research chose as laboratory of studies, two districts: Santa Teresinha and São Bento. The methodology was based on the accomplishment of bibliographical rising regarding the fear proposed, as well as fie/d work. ln this sense, the modernization process, analyzed in this research with the support of geoprocessing techniques, in the sense of verifying the current uses and occupations of both districts, came as an important instrument, in which cannot him to identify, the different space cuttings that was verified in elapsing of this research.

RESUMO A Bacia Bauru (grupos Bauru e Caiuá) possui uma diversificada fauna de dinossauros de distribuição típica do Gondwana, especialmente de Titanosauria e Abelisauridae. Os dinossauros são encontrados, principalmente, nas rochas das formações Adamantina e Marília (Grupo Bauru). Esses espécimes são representados por restos fragmentários depositados em ambiente flúvio-lacustre. Os dinossauros do Grupo Bauru são similares aos encontrados na Argentina. Essa composição sugere a presença de uma assembléia comum no Cretáceo Superior nessas regiões. Essa fauna de dinossauros compartilha semelhanças com espécimes coletados em rochas do mesmo Período da Índia e Madagascar refletindo uma origem Gondwânica comum.

ABSTRACT The Bauru Basin (Bauru and Caiuá basins) dinosaur fauna is diverse and typical from the Gondwana, specially composed hy Titanosauria and Abelisauridae. The dinosaurs are mainly found in rocks of the Adamantina and Marília formations (Bauru Group). Those specimens are represented by fragmentary remains deposited in an fluvio­lacustrine environment. The Bauru Group dinosaurs are similar to those found in Argentina. This composition suggests that there was a common assemblage during the Late Cretaceous in these regions. That fauna of dinosaurs share similarities to India and Madagascar specimens, reflecting a common Gondwanan origin.

RESUMO O presente artigo pretende apresentar os resultados da pesquisa realizada junto ao assentamento Rio das·Pedras, em Uberlândia. Minas Gerais, e a viabilidade de desenvolvimento de um projeto voltado ao desenvolvimento rural sustentável. O trabalho aborda algumas discussões a respeito da caracterização sócio-ambiental da região e da possibilidade de desenvolvimento de um tipo de agricultura sustentável junto aos assentados do assentamento Rio das Pedras.

ABSTRACT The subject of this paper is to present the results of a research that took place in cm agrarian reform settlement named Rio das Pedras, in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, and it discuss the possibility of elaborate/e and grow an agricultural sustainable project in this area. The work also introduces some discussions in relation to the social and environmental characterization, and the possibility to develop this kind of agriculture among the small farmers in the settlement.

RESUMO Empresas de diversos segmentos tem investido recursos humanos e financeiros na busca de um contante aprimoramento em sua rede de logística. Conhecer o seu mercado consumidor e analisá-lo considerando os aspectos geográficos, pode significar o diferencial entre a concorrência. Os Sistemas de Informação Geográfica são ferramentas adequadas e modernas para modelagem e tratamento de problemas com distribuição espacial de dados, envolvendo tanto a localização de clientes de acordo com o endereço, quanto no destino de produtos. Neste trabalho foi avaliada a aplicação do Software ArcView 3.2a na espacialização de informações de um banco de dados de uma empresa varejista, além da possibilidade de gerar soluções envolvendo a análise de redes.

ABSTRACT Companies from various segments have invested human and financial resources in seeking a constant improvement in their logistical network. Knowing its own consumer market and analyzing it by the geographical aspects may mean the differential amongst the competitors. The Geographical Information Systems are adequate and modern tools for modeling and dealing with problems related to spatial data distribution, involving either the customers' location through its addresses, or through products destination. In this paperwork it was evaluated the usage of Arcview 3.2a Software in spatial broadcast of a database information from a retailer company, besides the possibility of generating solutions involving networks review.

RESUMO As cidades representam· as maiores e mais significativas transformações que o homem causa na paisagem natural; o clima é um dos aspectos que melhor expressa a relação entre a sociedade e a organização econômica e social do espaço urbano. Por sua vez os fenômenos atmosféricos, aliados aos aspectos geológicos e geomorfológicos, atuam na gênese de uma variedade de paisagens que influenciam no tipo de organização do espaço.

RESUMO Ao estudarmos a história do comércio vemos que este sempre ocupou um lugar estratégico no espaço das cidades, visto que a sua função é produzir e aproveitar-se da concentração populacional. Neste sentido, a localização é considerada como um pré-requisito para a instalação de um estabelecimento comercial. Por outro lado, as formas de comércio também criam novas centralidades ligadas à natureza das trocas de mercadorias. Pode-se afirmar que o desenvolvimento do comércio varejista deu-se de forma espontânea, como uma manifestação das necessidades das diferentes sociedades em diferentes momentos. Assim, o comércio passa de uma função social para uma junção mais econômica que vai inventando e adotando novas técnicas de comercialização, expandindo, incorporando e promovendo mudanças nas relações de troca e, principalmente, no espaço onde ele ocorre. Atualmente, em função das importantes transformações que tem ocorrido com o sistema produtivo mundial, têm­ se novas modalidades comerciais que necessitam de grandes áreas para se instalarem. Ao buscarem novos espaços. antes considerados como periféricos, as grandes redes de comércio criam novas territorialidades urbanas. Nos lugares onde elas se instalam ocorre uma nova valorização do espaço. Neste sentido. este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as principais transformações ocorridas nos espaços urbanos com a instalação de novos estabelecimentos comerciais os quais criam novos espaços de consumo, de idéias, de valores sociais, enfim, novas territorialidades.

ABSTRACT Studying the trade history we can see that it has always been on a strategic place into the city space, being its function to produce and to take advantage of the amount of population. Through this meaning, location is considered as a pre-requisite for any commercial establishment. On the other hand, the ways of trading also creates new centralities connected to the nature of market trading. It can be said that the commercials retail development happened on a spontaneous way as a manifestation of the different needs of the different societies on different moments. This way, the trade has changed from a social function to a more economic function, which has been inventing and adopting new techniques of commercialization. expanding. incorporating and bringing out changes on trading relationships, and mostly, on where it occurs. Currently, in case of important transformations that have happened with the world productive system, there are new commercial modalities that need bigger areas to he installed. Searching new spaces, ·which were considered peripheral before, important trading webs create new urban centralities. The place where they install occurs a space valuation. Therefore, this work has as it purpose to analyze the mains transformations that have happened on urban spaces with the installation of new commercial establishments, which create new consumption ,spaces, new ideas, social values, at last, new centralities.

RESUMO Objetiva-se discutir sobre as implicações existentes entre os avanços da Ciência Cartográfica e a Cartografia Geomorfológica, tomando por base os conceitos, os progressos e as tendências da chamada “cartografia tradicional”. Para tanto, pretende­ se descrever as técnicas e melhorias hem como, a problemática resultante dessas inovações, salientando ainda o emprego da informática na confecção de mapas digitais.

RESUMO A cidade de Uberlândia possui índices expressivos de violência urbana, destacando-se como uma das mais violentas do Estado de Minas Gerais. Este estudo tem como objetivo caracterizar os homicídios na cidade nos anos de 1999 a 2002, destacando-se a dimensão espacial desse processo. Os bairros periféricos são aqueles que apresentam maior ocorrência de homicídios. A Geografia pode contribuir para o entendimento das diferenciações sócio-espaciais da criminalidade urbana.

ABSTRACT The city Uberlândia has significant incidence of urban violence. This city is one of the most violent of the state Minas Gerais. This article aims to characterize this homicides in the city emphasizing the spatial dimension. The homicides are numerous in the poorest districts. The geography can contribute to understand the urban violence's differentiation in the space of the cities.

RESUMO Mais do que uma ciência de sentido restrito. a Ecologia se mostra, hoje, como uma maneira de ver a rida e de agir nela. Nos últimos anos, a Ecologia Profunda. proposta por Arne Naess em 1973, tem colocado questões que nos fazem rever conceitos e atitudes, sugerindo que cada indivíduo se abra para uma revolução pessoal, mudando posturas diante do mundo. Após caminhar por um longo período sem objetivos e metodologias claros, a Educação Ambiental formal começa a ser vista/vivida como uma dimensão importante do processo educativo, que, juntamente com outras temáticas e tendo a Ecologia Profunda como norte, pode contribuir para o resgate de individualidades críticas e capazes de construírem caminhos alternativos para a minimização dos problemas sócio-ambientais. Para isso, a escola, em sua totalidade, deve se voltar para um trabalho integrado, onde a complexidade das relações nela desenvolvidas, seja o referencial para o estabelecimento de sua proposta pedagógica.

ABSTRACT More than a confined science. Ecology shows us today how to see life and act in ti. In recent years, Deep Ecology a proposal by Arne Naess in 1973, has brought up questions that make us review our concepts and attitudes by proposing that each individual opens themselves to a personal revolution, changing their deportment in light of the world. After advancing for a long period of time without objectives and clear methodologies, formal Environmental Education is beginning to be seen and lived as an important dimension in the educational process. This process, individual criticisms and is capable of constructing alternative ways to minimize social environmental problems. For this to happen, a school in its totality, must turn to an integrated work which the complexity of relations is developed to be a reference to the definition of its pedagogical proposal.
