Resumo: Este texto tem por objetivo trazer algumas provocações em torno do debate do Serviço Social na América Latina e no Caribe, que este ano (2025) completa um século de existência. São reflexões que nos convidam a tecer, brevemente, um balanço sócio-histórico do Serviço Social, pensando passado, presente e apontando desafios para o futuro da profissão e da humanidade, em um cenário acirrado de disputas de projetos societários, a partir do tempo presente.

Resumo: Referenciado na Reconceituação do Serviço Social na América Latina, este artigo resgata o processo histórico de ALAETS/Celats e ALAEITS na organização política acadêmica como mediação na construção da alternativa crítica na profissão, sob a orientação do pensamento marxista, destacando o protagonismo do Serviço Social brasileiro. São experiências que contribuem para pensar e agir sobre os desafios do presente e do futuro dessa mediação organizativa da profissão no continente.

Abstract: Based on the Reconceptualization of Social Work in Latin America, this article examines the historical process of ALAETS/CELATS and ALAEITS in the academic political organization as a mediation in the construction of the critical alternative in the profession, under the guidance of Marxist thought, highlighting the leading role of Brazilian Social Work. These are experiences that contribute to thinking and acting on the challenges of the present and the future of this organizational mediation of the profession on the continent.

Resumo: O presente estudo analisou as deliberações do Conselho Federal de Serviço Social e dos Conselhos Regionais de Serviço Social, Conjunto CFESS/CRESS, sobre a temática do aborto no período compreendido entre 2008 e 2017 e se baseou na pesquisa qualitativa e documental. Em 2008, inicia-se o debate da categoria no que tange ao posicionamento quanto à descriminalização do aborto. Desde então, o posicionamento político do Conjunto caminha na defesa da autonomia e da liberdade das mulheres sobre os seus corpos e incorpora a pauta do movimento feminista.

Abstract: The present study analyzed the deliberations of the Federal Council of Social Work and the Regional Councils of Social Work, Conjunto CFESS/CRESS, on the topic of abortion during the period from 2008 to 2017 and was based on qualitative and documentary research. In 2008, the debate on the category regarding the stance on the decriminalization of abortion began. Since then, the political stance of the Council has been in defense of women’s autonomy and freedom over their bodies and has incorporated the agenda of the feminist movement.

Resumo: O artigo é resultado de dissertação de mestrado, que objetivou analisar a repercussão da redução da jornada de trabalho para assistentes sociais. A metodologia da pesquisa mesclou dados quanti e qualitativos, por meio de questionários e entrevistas com assistentes sociais da prefeitura do município de Diadema. Os principais resultados foram o aumento de tempo livre para a vida pessoal e a inexistência de outro vínculo de trabalho, mas também a intensificação dos ritmos de trabalho.

Abstract: This article is based on a master’s dissertation that aimed to analyze the impacts of the reduction in working hours for social workers. The research methodology combined quantitative and qualitative data, using questionnaires and interviews with social workers from the municipality of Diadema. The main findings were an increase in free time for personal life and the absence of additional employment, but also an intensification of work pace.

Resumo: O artigo reflete sobre o processo de construção do Movimento de Reconceituação brasileiro e seus desdobramentos. Objetiva elucidar a necessidade e a atualidade da tradição marxista nos debates do Serviço Social. O estudo bibliográfico apontou como resultados a maturidade do Serviço Social na produção de conhecimentos sobre as relações constitutivas da sociedade burguesa, o ressurgimento do pensamento conservador e o aprofundamento da barbárie neoliberal e fascista no mundo.

Abstract: The article reflects on the process of construction of the Brazilian Reconceptualization Movement and its developments. It aims to elucidate the need and relevance of the Marxism tradition in the debates of Social Work. The bibliographic study pointed out as results the maturity of Social Work in the production of knowledge about the constitutive relations of bourgeois society. The resurgence of conservative thought and the deepening of neoliberal and fascist barbarism in the world.

Resumo: O artigo aborda as particularidades da precarização no trabalho e no mercado de trabalho do Serviço Social na Argentina e no Brasil, reconhecendo sua funcionalidade ao capitalismo no contexto de espraiamento da “razão neoliberal”. Sustentada no materialismo histórico-dialético, a análise aponta que as atuais expressões da precarização incidem sobre a profissionalidade do Serviço Social, mas também podem, a partir do reconhecimento de deter­minantes comuns, fortalecer sua unidade na América Latina.

Abstract: The article addresses the particularities of precariousness in labor and the labor market of Social Work in Argentina and Brazil. It begins with the recognition of its function within capitalism, particularly in the context of the expansion of “neoliberal reason”. Based on historical-dialectical materialism, the analysis points out that the current expressions of precariousness affect the professionalism of Social Work, while also having the potential to strengthen its unity in Latin America.

Resumen: Este trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar algunos de los aportes de Marilda Iamamoto a la perspectiva crítica del trabajo social. Abstract: This article seeks to explore the contributions of Marilda Iamamoto to the critical approach in social work. It is based on a critical hermeneutic perspective, focusing on the analysis of the book El Servicio Social en la contemporaneidad [Social Work in Contemporaneity], alongside two other books in Spanish: Servicio Social y la división del trabajo [Social Work and the Division of Labor] and Trabajo Social en tiempo de capital fetiche [Social Work in Times of Fetish Capital]. In the face of the contradictions generated by the capitalist mode of production, the challenge is both ethical and political.

Resumo: O artigo aborda a reconceituação pela qual passou o Serviço Social e a virada crítica que marcou a Psicologia Social. Com base em pesquisa exploratória e bibliográfica, buscou-se: a) discutir o Movimento de Reconceituação ocorrido no Serviço Social; b) compreender como se deu a guinada teórica e política na Psicologia Social; e c) refletir sobre a aproximação teórica que une as duas profissões. Os resultados apontam que ambas convergiram para um compromisso com o social.

Abstract: This article addresses the reconceptualization undergone by Social Work and the critical shift that marked Social Psychology. Based on exploratory and bibliographic research, it aimed to: a) discuss the Reconceptualization Movement in Social Work; b) understand the theoretical and political turn in Social Psychology; and c) reflect on the theoretical convergence between the two professions. The results indicate that both fields have converged toward a commitment to the social dimension.

Registra que a primeira escola foi fundada oficialmente em 1941 no Amazonas, seguida pelo Pará em 1950. Até 2025, três estados da Amazônia brasileira não dispõem de curso em universidades públicas. O intuito do artigo é contribuir para a escrita da história da profissão no Brasil e na América Latina.

Abstract: The article deals with the genesis and development of Social Work in the Brazilian Amazon, which comprises nine states of the federation. It is based on bibliographical and documentary research. It notes that the first school was officially founded in 1941 in Amazonas, followed by Pará in 1950. By 2025, three states in the Brazilian Amazon will have no courses at public universities. The aim of the article is to contribute to writing the history of the profession in Brazil and Latin America.

Abstract: The text discusses the work of social workers in student assistance, as the “philosophical place” of guaranteeing the right to be at university. The method used is historical-dialectical materialism and as a result, it is pointed out that the greatest demand for Social Service in student permanence is the socioeconomic assessment, but, beyond this, there are possibilities for work from the perspective of the hegemonic ethical-political project of the profession.

Resumen: Desde una perspectiva histórico-crítica, se analiza la práctica del trabajo social en el ámbito de la salud en México. Se evidencia la persistencia de lógicas de medicalización y moralización que datan del porfiriato y la posrevolución, así como la emergencia de resistencias. A cien años del trabajo social en América Latina, se plantea la urgencia de reorientar el ejercicio profesional hacia un proyecto ético-político.

Abstract: From a historical-critical perspective, this paper analyzes social work practice in the field of health in Mexico. It reveals the persistence of medicalizing and moralizing logics dating back to the Porfirian and post-revolutionary periods, as well as the emergence of forms of resistance. On the centenary of social work in Latin America, the need to reorient professional practice toward an ethical-political project is emphasized.

Abstract: The result of postgraduate research and investigation in the CNPq Productivity Scholarship Program, this article aims to point out some of the pitfalls present in the literature on Brazilian social formation, which present themselves as theoretical and methodological challenges to make intelligible the ethnic-racial issue that permeates the social question in Brazil and challenges the understanding of the repercussions of the current pattern of capital accumulation on the racially discriminated portion of the working class.

Resumen: El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las tendencias teórico-metodológicas y políticas en el Trabajo Social colombiano, con énfasis en las perspectivas denominadas “críticas”. Se revisaron artículos en varias revistas académicas de Trabajo Social, constituidas como referentes en la producción bibliográfica del país. Los resultados señalan un crecimiento y desarrollo de dos perspectivas: la crítica marxista y la crítica decolonial; ambas están en disputa por la hegemonía en la profesión.

Abstract: The objective of this article is to analyze theoretical-methodological and political trends in Colombian social work, with an emphasis on perspectives referred to as “critical.” Articles were reviewed in various academic journals on social work, which are considered milestones in the country’s bibliographic production. The results indicate the growth and development of two perspectives: Marxist criticism and decolonial criticism; both are competing for hegemony in the profession.

Resumo: O estudo analisou a violência doméstica contra crianças no Brasil, focando o patriarcado e as políticas de proteção social. Com base em dados secundários de notícias publicadas entre março de 2020 e agosto de 2021, identificaram-se 134 matérias envolvendo 150 crianças, predominando meninos (64%) e idades médias de 5,5 anos, sendo o pai o principal agressor (31,3%). Notou-se um aumento dos casos com o distanciamento social da covid-19, desafiando a visão idealizada da família como um espaço seguro.

Abstract: The study analyzed domestic violence against children in Brazil, focusing on patriarchy and social protection policies. Based on secondary data from news articles published between March 2020 and August 2021, 134 reports involving 150 children were identified, with a predominance of boys (64%) and an average age of 5.5 years, where the father was the main aggressor (31,3%). Increased cases were noted during the social distancing caused by covid-19, challenging the idealized view of the family as a safe space.

Resumo: A pesquisa analisou as ações de controle interno realizadas pela Secretaria Estadual de Saúde de Pernambuco, à luz dos contratos de gestão e termos aditivos com as Organizações Sociais da Saúde (OSS) para a administração hospitalar, no período 2009-2019. Neste estudo, simultaneamente à tendência expansionista de gestão por OSS, afirma-se haver distorções no controle interno quando da observação de objetos contratuais genéricos; quarteirização de serviços; e reajustes contratuais sem previsão legal.

Abstract: The research analyzed the internal control actions carried out by the State Department of Health of Pernambuco, in light of the management contracts and additive terms with the Social Health Organizations (SHO) for hospital administration, in the period 2009- 2019. In this study, simultaneously with the expansionist trend management by SHO, it is stated that there are distortions in internal control when observing generic contractual objects; outsourcing of services; and contractual readjustments without legal provision.

Resumo: Esta pesquisa objetiva analisar aspectos da ocupação de assistentes sociais em cargos no órgão gestor das políticas municipais de assistência social. Realizaram-se a sistematização e a análise dos dados do Censo Suas e da produção acadêmica em Serviço Social sobre a inserção e a atuação profissional nesses espaços. Os resultados mostram uma predominância dos(as) assistentes sociais na gestão desta política, desafios na formação continuada e a existência de lacunas na produção acadêmica.

Abstract: This research aims to analyze aspects of social workers’ occupation in positions within the municipal social assistance policy management body. To this end, data from the Suas Census and academic production in Social Work regarding professional insertion and performance in these spaces are systematized and analyzed. The results show a predominance of social workers in the management of this policy, challenges in continuous training, and the existence of gaps in academic production.

Resumo: O artigo aponta a necessidade de se estimular a educação permanente em cuidados paliativos. Objetiva apresentar resultados da pesquisa exploratório-descritiva “Oficinas Itinerantes em Cuidados Paliativos”, fundamentada em Paulo Freire, conduzida em unidades de saúde, envolvendo profissionais e gestores. Foi utilizado um questionário on-line para a coleta de dados, contabilizando 62 participantes. Dentre os achados, destacou-se uma deficiência na capacitação profissional em cuidados paliativos.

Abstract: The article highlights the need to encourage ongoing education in palliative care. It aims to present results of the exploratory-descriptive research “Itinerant Workshops in Palliative Care”, based on Paulo Freire, conducted in health units, involving professionals and managers. An online questionnaire was used to collect data, accounting for 62 participants. Among the findings, a deficiency in professional training in palliative care stood out.

Resumo: A Casa Abrigo é um equipamento social para salvar vidas de mulheres em situação de violência. Este artigo realiza uma revisão narrativa da literatura para compreender seu funcionamento no Brasil. Resultados indicam escassez de estudos sobre o tema, problemas no funcionamento, no quadro de profissionais, nas redes de apoio e no acompanhamento do pós-acolhimento, demonstrando a heterogeneidade dos serviços existentes no país e indicando a necessidade de aprimoramento das políticas públicas.

Abstract: The Shelter Home is a social facility that saves the lives of women in situations of violence. This article conducts a narrative review of the literature to understand how it works in Brazil. The results show a lack of studies on the subject, problems in its functioning, in the staff, in the support networks and in the post-reception follow-up, demonstrating the heterogeneity of the services available in the country and highlighting the need to improve public policies. Resumo: O câncer gera impactos para pacientes e famílias. O artigo analisa, a partir da teoria das redes sociais, consequências do Tratamento Fora do Domicílio (TFD) para pacientes oncológicos, a partir do deslocamento, da dinâmica familiar e das redes de apoio. Os resultados apontam que as mudanças impostas pelo tratamento afetam a rotina familiar, sendo a família o principal suporte. O TFD é a única alternativa para viabilizar o tratamento em muitos casos, mesmo não sendo consolidado como política pública.

Abstract: Cancer has an impact on both patients and their families. This article analyzes, from the perspective of social network theory, the consequences of the Tratamento Fora do Domicílio (TFD - Treatment Away from Home) for cancer patients, focusing on displacement, family dynamics, and support networks. The results indicate that the changes imposed by the treatment affect family routines, with the family being the primary source of support. TFD is often the only option to ensure access to treatment, even though it is not yet fully established as a public policy.

Resumo: Neste artigo apresentamos reflexão sobre o Novo Ensino Médio, política regressiva que repercute neste segmento educacional, ao reformular currículo e conteúdo. Entendemos que este quadro tem efeitos deletérios sobre a qualidade educacional, aprofundando desigualdades e impactando nas possibilidades de acesso ao ensino superior. Além disso, suas consequências serão sentidas no trabalho dos profissionais da educação, inclusive assistentes sociais atuantes nesta política.

Abstract: In this article we present a reflection about the New High School Reform a regressive policy that has repercussions in this educational segment, by reformulating curriculum and content. We understand that this framework has deleterious effects on educational quality, deepening inequalities and impacting the possibilities of access to higher education. Furthermore, its consequences will be felt in the work of education professionals, including social workers working in this policy.

Resumo: O objetivo deste texto é compreender a percepção das pessoas com deficiência física sobre as barreiras atitudinais enfrentadas no seu dia a dia e a influência na vivência da corporeidade. A pesquisa é aplicada, observacional descritiva, com análise e discussão qualitativa. Foram entrevistadas 12 pessoas com deficiência física. Os resultados indicaram que as atitudes capacitistas da sociedade implicam uma visão preconceituosa e errônea sobre as pessoas com deficiência como incapazes e dignas de pena.

Abstract: The objective is to understand the perception of people with physical disabilities about the attitudinal barriers they face in their daily lives and their influence on the experience of corporeality. The research is applied, observational and descriptive, with qualitative analysis and discussion. Twelve people with physical disabilities were interviewed. The results indicated that ableist attitudes in society imply a prejudiced and erroneous view of people with disabilities as incapable and worthy of pity.

Resumo: Este relato de experiência constitui o desdobramento das atividades de ensino e pesquisa realizadas na Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais da Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (Unesp/Franca), com o objetivo de apresentar uma análise crítica da extensão universitária como dimensão político-educativa. A metodologia fundamentou-se na revisão bibliográfica e documental, ancorada no referencial crítico-dialético. Os resultados evidenciam as potencialidades da práxis extensionista como mediação para legitimar uma educação que transcenda os muros da universidade.

Abstract: This experience report is the result of teaching and research activities carried out at FCHS - Unesp/Franca, aiming to present a critical analysis of university extension as a political-educational dimension. The methodology was based on bibliographic and documentary review, grounded in the critical-dialectical framework. The findings highlight the potential of extension praxis as a mediation to legitimize an education that transcends the university walls.

Abstract: The aim of this article is to contribute to the analysis of the theory of the revolutionary party present in the Prison notebooks of the Italian thinker Antonio Gramsci, highlighting its importance for the construction of the hegemony of the subaltern. Through a bibliographic study, we recover the theoretical and political-organizational elements capable of emphasizing the relevance and centrality of the party’s role in class struggles and its responsibility in forming a collective will capable of overcoming the capitalist order.

Resumo: A terceirização de profissionais de saúde é crescente em serviços de saúde. O número de assistentes sociais contratados de forma terceirizada na saúde pública vem se ampliando. Este ensaio objetiva debater as políticas de saúde privatizantes e focalistas que corroboram a alta rotatividade de assistentes sociais em vínculos trabalhistas frágeis no campo da saúde. Isso reduz a qualidade da atenção, produz um distanciamento do usuário de seu território e, portanto, do Sistema Único de Saúde.

Abstract: Outsourcing of health professionals is increasing in health services. The number of social workers hired on an outsourced basis in public health has been increasing. This essay aims to discuss the privatizing and focalized health policies that contribute to the high turnover of social workers in fragile employment relationships in the health field. This reduces the quality of care, creates a distance between the user and their territory and, therefore, from the Unified Health System.

Resumo: O artigo analisa as violações de direitos de crianças e adolescentes no Pará, destacando violência física, psicológica, sexual e negligência. Com base em dados do Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação Sinan (2010-2023), identifica aumento das notificações, com o abuso sexual como o mais frequente, especialmente contra meninas de 10 a 14 anos. Apesar de avanços legislativos, a violência segue crescente, exigindo políticas mais eficazes para garantir a proteção integral e um futuro mais seguro para esse grupo vulnerável.

Abstract: The article analyzes the violations of the rights of children and adolescents in Pará, highlighting physical, psychological, sexual violence, and neglect. Based on data from the Notifiable Health Conditions Information System (Sinan) from 2010 to 2023, it identifies an increase in reports, with sexual abuse being the most frequent, especially against girls aged 10 to 14. Despite legislative advances, violence continues to rise, demanding more effective policies to ensure comprehensive protection and a safer future for this vulnerable group.

Resumo: O presente artigo, fruto das discussões realizadas no âmbito do doutoramento em Serviço Social, aborda as categorias ética e política, em suas determinações ontológico-sociais, problematizando a compreensão de Lessa (2015) acerca delas. Amparo-me no materialismo histórico-dialético e na revisão bibliográfica, com seleção de livros e artigos que discutem a temática sob a abordagem crítico-dialética. Conclui-se que a relação entre ética e política é ontológica, como unidade dialética.

Abstract: This article, the result of discussions held within the scope of the PhD in Social Work, addresses the categories of ethics and politics, in their ontological-social determinations, problematizing Lessa’s (2015) understanding of them. I base myself on historical-dialectical materialism and on the bibliographic review, with a selection of books and articles that discuss the theme under the critical-dialectical approach. It is concluded that the relationship between ethics and politics is ontological, as a dialectical unity.

Resumo: O presente estudo tem como objetivo refletir sobre os desafios dos assistentes sociais na defesa do superior interesse da criança na Sala da Família do Tribunal da Comarca de Luanda. Baseou-se em levantamento bibliográfico e documental norteado por uma visão social crítica fundamentada no método do materialismo histórico-dialético, que nos permitiu concluir que os assistentes sociais em Angola ainda enfrentam vários desafios na esfera sociojurídica, que vão desde o reconhecimento da profissão, inserção sócio-ocupacional até consequente reafirmação profissional.

Abstract: The present study aims to reflect the challenges of social workers in defending the best interests of the child in the Family Room of the Luanda District Court. It was based on a bibliographic and documentary survey guided by a critical social vision based on the method of historical-dialectical materialism that allowed us to conclude that social workers in Angola still face several challenges in the socio-legal sphere, ranging from the recognition of the profession, socio-occupational insertion to consequent professional reaffirmation.

Resumo: Com a instauração do Depoimento Especial, reinaugurou-se a violência institucional à qual crianças e adolescentes vítimas de abuso sexual são historicamente submetidos no Poder Judiciário. Sob a égide dessa legislação, objetivamos explicitar a potencialidade dos danos que podem ser causados em crianças e adolescentes quando estes são induzidos a falar sobre a vivência de uma situação de violência, em prol, exclusivamente, da produção das provas necessárias ao curso do processo penal.

Abstract: Given the establishment of the Special Testimony, the institutional violence to which children and adolescents victims of sexual abuse are historically subjected in the Judiciary, was restated. Currently, under the aegis of such legislation, we aim to explain the potential damage that can be caused to children and adolescents when they are induced to talk about their experiences of a violent situation in favour, exclusively, of the production of evidence for criminal proceedings.

Resumo: O artigo tem como objetivo analisar o neoconservadorismo no Brasil, compreendido no contexto da crise estrutural do capital e da decadência ideológica da burguesia. Trata-se de resultado de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, realizada à luz do método crítico-dialético. Assim, buscou analisar a relação entre o moralismo religioso, o autoritarismo e o neoliberalismo no governo Bolsonaro. Conclui-se que o Bolsonarismo vai além da figura presidencial, constituindo-se como uma ideologia regressiva que ameaça os fundamentos democráticos.

Abstract: The article aims to analyze neoconservatism in Brazil, understood within the context of the structural crisis of capital and the ideological decline of the bourgeoisie. It is the result of bibliographic and documentary research, conducted through the lens of the dialectical-critical method. Accordingly, it seeks to examine the relationship between religious moralism, authoritarianism, and neoliberalism in the Bolsonaro government. It concludes that Bolsonarism goes beyond the presidential figure, constituting a regressive ideology that threatens the foundations of democracy.

Resumo: O texto objetiva apresentar aos leitores alguns aspectos sobre a proteção social e os direitos humanos da intelectual, pesquisadora e professora Dra. Maria Carmelita Yazbek, a partir de uma análise crítica dos fundamentos do Serviço Social e da política social. A entrevista destaca a interlocução de pesquisas sobre os fundamentos da profissão e da política social, e os desafios da proteção social, dos direitos humanos e da profissão na América Latina e no Brasil diante da sociabilidade burguesa.
