Notes on the assemblies held in a CAPS II: when the clinic and politic go hand in hand

The Assembly constitutes itself as a clinical and political device of the Psychosocial Care Centers, as it establishes itself as a space for popular participation and operates as a care device for individuals with severe psychic suffering. This study aims to discuss the dimension of care the Assembly can have in the follow-up of users serviced at a Psychosocial Care Centers II in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro by narrative research. Users’ stories showed that the Assembly can have caring effects by embracing the singularity of each individual in their relationship with the device, potentially constituting itself as an instrument for building a sense of belonging and crisis care strategy. This device can also provide discussions about users’ rights and dialogue with the life and diversity pulsating beyond the service walls.
