Open-access School education and the intercultural multiculturalism: critique from Simone de Beauvoir

Abstract

This article approaches one of the theoretical perspectives of the contemporary educational debate: the critical or intercultural multiculturalism. It is here analysed the seductive character of its discourse for school education. Based on Simone de Beauvoir's theoretical contribution, this paper points out that, despite its democratic intentions, the critical or intercultural Multiculturalism disqualifies the school and the teachers' intervention, besides damaging the school curriculum.
