Open-access Public early childhood education: a meeting place for multiple childhoods

This systematic literature review aims to identify intersectionality as a concept and analytical method in research on childhood considering how babies/children affect and are affected by social markers of social class, gender, race, disability, and generation based on their family, institutional, social and cultural contexts. This study analysed influences of intersectional markers and their relationship with poverty, discrimination, racism, adultcentrism, and ableism. The gaps in public policies for children were evaluated, highlighting the importance of access to public early childhood education led by babies/children that can contribute to human emancipation and tackle social inequality.
