Satellite images: from technical to political issues for geographical knowledge construction

Abstract

The central idea of this paper is to establish a link between the technique, politics and particular epistemology of geography, concerning satellite images and their sensorial, algorithmic and semantic dimensions. Our purpose is to contribute for the clarification of the role that the satellite imagery plays in the construction of geographic knowledge and as an instrument for decision taking.
