Da morte política à consagração: indagações sobre o significado da reeleição de Lula

Abstract

This article examines the electoral process of 2006, which resulted in the reelection of president Lula. It states that the period was characterized by protests of unsatisfied voters and by PSDB's strategy faults, starting by the choice of its candidate. It is also argued that the ethical débâcle of Partido dos Trabalhadores stimulated a wave of prejudice unseen in Brazilian political history .
