Macedão Stadium in Caçapava do Sul (RS/Brazil): Ethnography of a Revitalization

This article presents an ethnography carried out at the Macedão Stadium, in Caçapava do Sul (RS, Brazil), tracing, from November 2020 to November 2025, the lines of life that traverse the continuous process of its revitalization. The research turned to the gestures, affects, memories, and narratives that continually make and unmake the stadium, moving to the rhythm of city life. The methodological path, woven through walks, participant observation, and situated conversations, allowed us to follow the ways in which the space is continually reconfigured in everyday life, revealing a landscape in becoming where practices, tensions, and expectations grow intertwined. From this attentive engagement, the study proposes to understand revitalization not as an opposition between tradition and modernity or conservation and innovation, but as a relational movement through which the stadium continuously reinvents itself within the ordinary webs of life that constitute it.
