Internationalization is a trend that, in the last two decades, has been firmly established in Latin America. However, this article argues that it is part of a historical process that has been constituted within the region with characteristics of its own. For this reason, this paper aims to identify the contributions of the 1918 Cordoba Reform to the analysis of the university internationalization process in Latin America. A bibliographical and documentary research with a historical content was carried out. Its result points out that the legacy of the reform, with regard to regional integration and the concept of university autonomy, contributes to a view of internationalization rooted in the Latin American context.

1919	Uruguay	The “Ariel” Student Center is founded. They launch a journal named after the center.

	Peru-Argentina	The president of the Argentinian University Federation [Federación Universitaria Argentina] (FUA), Gabriel del Mazo, signs an agreement with the president of the Student Federation of Peru, Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, guided by the resolutions of the international congresses of Latin American students held in Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Lima.
	Chile	1^st Student Convention of Chile. The first issue of the Student Federation of Chile’s journal is published, called “Claridad”.
1921	Mexico	1^st International Student Congress, known as the first continental event of the Reform. Guests from all over the world participated, especially students from Latin America.
1921	Chile	The Student Federation of Chile sends a message to the Student Federation of Peru, celebrating the centenary of the Peruvian independence.
1922	Colombia	1^st National Congress of Colombian Students (Medellín).
1922	Chile	Second Reform Campaign in Chile.
1923	Cuba	1^st National Congress of Cuban Students.
1924	Colombia	2^nd National Congress of Colombian Students (Bogotá).
	Panama	The Panamá Society of Law Students sends a letter repudiating the incorporation of its territory into the United States.
	Cuba	Creation of the Confederation of Cuban Students.
1925	France	The Latin American General Student Association is formed in France.
1926	El Salvador	The General Student Association is created in El Salvador
1926	Panama	The Student Federation of Panama plans a Bolivarian congress, inviting all Hispanic American countries.
1927	Paraguay	The Student Federation of Paraguay incorporates the reformism into its ideological affiliation, and declares that the movement is united with the university youths of Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Cuba and Uruguay.
1928	Bolivia	First Student Convention in Bolivia.
	Uruguay	Law students strike in Uruguay, lasting one year
	Brazil	Students from Rio de Janeiro launch a Pro-University Reform Manifesto
1929	Uruguay	The Federation of Uruguayan University Students [Federación de Estudiantes Universitarios del Uruguay) (FEUU] is founded.
1929	Mexico	The Organic Law on University Autonomy is sanctioned.
