Intelligence and misunderstanding: Ciência Todo Dia and audiovisual narratives about scienceThis article draws on Greimas's discussion of meaning to analyze the science communication YouTube channel Ciência Todo Dia, a product that is a consequence of the contemporary diversification of audiovisual media. These stories are organized through two semantic micro-universes. A description that exposes such structures describes: 1) non-human attributions (guided by a limitless intelligence); and 2) human attributions (marked by the sense of danger present in error). The /doing/ ongoing in these plots is discussed, presenting it in two ways. In the first, the elements of nature are staged based on actions conducted omnisciently and autonomously. The second explains how human intervention depends on a skill of judgment indispensable to the characters who carry out such acts.
