Open-access WOMEN’S HISTORY IN BASIC EDUCATION: MAPPING AND ANALYSIS OF CURRICULAR POLICIES

The article analyzes curricular policies that incorporate the history of women into Basic Education as a strategy of curricular justice. It is a qualitative documentary study that mapped three laws enacted in Brazil that mandate the inclusion of women’s history in curricula. The laws were treated as discourse from a Foucauldian perspective and analyzed based on the theoretical assumptions of feminist and gender studies. The results show that these laws are initiatives proposed by women and function as policies of recognition and symbolic reparation in response to historical memoricide. Despite the convergences and divergences among the legislation analyzed, they open fissures in the regimes of truth that sustain school history.
