The objective behind this work is to reflect theoretically on understanding and identifying possibilities for promoting Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL) as social transformation, in the classroom context, based on Social Technology (ST). Considering this perspective, we revisit ideas already consolidated in the literature on STL and social transformation and present propositions for a theoretical framework for the school context. From the perspective of school STL, we point out some considerations to developing social transformation, including science teaching as a social practice, the insertion of ST as a social and didactic model to be studied, the teacher's intentionality in developing school STL and argumentation as an epistemic practice to identify STL as Social Transformation
