Open-access Social Precarity: The Strategies for Survival of Adolescents Serving Socio-Educational Measures Involving Deprivation of Liberty

This text presents a reflection on the social and psychological effects of adolescence spent deprived of the freedom to exist within a social network. This is the reality of boys serving socio-educational measures involving deprivation of liberty at a facility of the General Department of Socio-Educational Actions of Rio de Janeiro (Degase/RJ). The topic under investigation addresses the relationship between adolescence and delinquency, based on an examination of the post-incarceration trajectories of adolescents who have broken the law. The analysis is grounded in theoretical and methodological concerns arising from the intersection of psychoanalysis and socio-education, from which two findings regarding suffering within the socio-educational system emerge.
