When The Interview Dominates You: Dilemmas of A Field With Security Forces

The field produces unique configurations of relationships between researcher and interviewee. Significant field records of in-depth interviews with security forces agents in Argentina are analyzed. We argue that the intersectionality between gender, generation and profession produces certain ways of understanding and acting in correspondence. We propose three moments that occur in this configuration: seduction, domination and escape. The results are analyzed from symbolic interactionism, gender theory, anthropology of emotions and psychoanalysis.
