Teichmüller, philosophaster: Nietzsche, Source study, Perspectivism (part 1)

Divided into two parts, this article aims to discuss, in light of the source study method, how Nietzsche receives G. Teichmüller's perspectivism. My hypothesis, based on the terms of KSA 11, 608, is that Nietzsche subverts conventional historiography by treating the source as nourishment to be digested through a process of “selection,” “incorporation,” and “rejection.” In the case of Teichmüller, this process takes on an even more curious form insofar as, critically, the digestion of the source aims to de-characterize - or rather, to recharacterize it in the manner of a type, a caricature, an offense (Schimpfwort).
