KLEBSIELLA PNEUMONIAE SUBSP. RHINOSCLEROMATIS AS AGENT OF SEPTICEMIA IN SWINESAn occurrence of swine septicemia, dueto Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. rhinoscleromatis, is described in a small domestic breeding in São Paulo county, SP state. The clinical sigos and anatomo-pathological lesions presented by theanimals were similar to those of salmonelosis. In the antimicrobial test the bacteria showed sensibility to chloranphenicol, gentamycin, kanamycin, sulfazotrym and tetracyclin. Sulfazotrim was choosen to treatthe animals with good results. As diseases caused by Enterobacteriaceae notcan beclinically distinguished, the identification of the causal agent is of great importance. Few reports of Klebsiella spp septicemic cases are found in the literature and this is the very first one in Brazil. ·
