Open-access Women and social reproduction in the illegal drug market in Brazil and Colombia

The article investigates the relationship between the illegal drug market and the social reproduction of labor and life, in Brazil and Colombia, through the lens of Social Reproduction Theory. Through interviews and participant observation, the research revealed that the illegal market sustains its capital accumulation through the expropriation of territories and the warlike overexploitation of the workforce, especially black, indigenous and peasant women.
