“Eco” nomic and “eco” logy: outlines of a new ethical paradigm based on the concept of “address”

Modernity was a historical period of great effervescence, marked by a profound rupture with the medieval world and the rise of new forms of political and economic organization, which changed not only the structure of social institutions, but also the individual’s perceptions of themselves. and the relationships between individuals and the public sphere. This article aimed to analyze the problem of the concept of economy and ecology, based on the understanding of address, outlined by a new ethical paradigm. The objective was to study the specialized literature of the etymological root of the words “economy” and “ecology”. As a result, it was highlighted that ecology becomes, in the 21st century, a moral duty for thinkers from all areas, both within their own field and in an interdisciplinary way, investment in human projects that make it possible in harmony with the project Earth. It is concluded that current economic thinking is only focused on managing the “artificial world” created by humans, not worrying about the health and balance of the natural world. The methodological procedure is bibliographic and documentary based on qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and inductive research.
