Memórias presentes: autos de resistência e movimento de familiares de vítimas de violência de Estado

This article aims to analyze the “auto de resistência” as one of the mechanisms that enables the police to maintain the same logic of summary executions of alleged opponents, as carried out during the corporate-military dictatorship, having been created precisely in 1969. Its relevance here is understood because it is a fundamental link that points to the maintenance of exception in the present, sustaining it as a possibility and a permanent reality for certain territories. Nevertheless, except for some researchers who will be quoted throughout the text, there is almost a division between those who analyze the dictatorship period and those who study police violence in favelas and peripheral areas. In this sense, through bibliographic analysis, the history and uses of this mechanism will be traced, highlighting, through testimony and memory politics articulated by movements of families, observing its potential to emphasize the persistence of authoritarian practices in the present.
