Open-access Fiction, history and society in Chico Buarque’s literature (a synoptic overview)

This paper presents a synoptic overview of Chico Buarque’s literary work since the 1990s, and focuses on the representation and stylization of contemporary social experience. It emphasizes, in the underlying historical course, a process of fragmentation and de-politicization of society as a whole, the effects of which are worked out in particular fictional configurations.
