Open-access Appropriation of digital technologies, limits and possibilities

This article aims to discuss the scope and limits of the notion of appropriation of digital technologies, given the relevance it has acquired in the field of social sciences since the 1990s due to the extension and ubiquity acquired by these technologies and their widespread use as a strategic concept in organizations and social movements committed to the democratization of the Internet. Intersectionality is also a concept put into question, given that the multiple oppressions on racialized and gendered lives are deepening in the socio-technological scenario of the current stage of capitalism. Finally, this article aims to show a brief mapping of actions and thoughts that support the development of a feminist, anti-racist, and decolonial Internet in Latin America and Caribbean/LAC.
