Open-access Antifeminism in contemporary Brazil - between concepts and characteristics

From a post-structuralist framework, the objective of this text is to discuss some concepts and characteristics present in the anti-feminist bibliographical production in contemporary Brazil, exposed in the books Feminismo: perversão e subversão and Guia de bolso contra mentiras feministas, both authored by Ana Caroline Campagnolo. First, I review how anti-feminist ideas circulated in Brazil with the popularization of social networks and how the publication of the books analyzed fit into this context. Afterwards, I reflect on similarities and distances between the concepts of antifeminism, masculinism and misogyny. Finally, I present characteristics of current Brazilian anti-feminist thought, inserting it into the right-wing political spectrum, pointing out its efforts to distance feminism from Christianity and construct a feminist stereotype.
