Hierarchies in latin american social research: reflections on practice

We present reflections from our place of enunciation as white researchers and cis women, researching topics related to indigenous women in Latin America. Supported by the literature review and the reflection on practice, we discussed the hierarchical relationships in doing academic research, especially with historically, socially and politically subordinated groups. Based on the genealogical perspective of the concept of horizontality and on feminist methodologies in Latin American, to tension hierarchies from our research experiences, completed and in progress. We conclude that by making our practices the object of study, we contribute to building epistemic conditions for the inquiry of legitimate assumptions.
