Abstract in Portuguese:

O presente estudo foi realizado em uma unidade ambulatorial que atende exclusivamente pessoas com hipertensão arterial. Teve como objetivos: identificar que orientação os pacientes receberam em relação a medicamentos, dieta, atividades físicas, fumo e bebida alcoólica; verificar como se comportam quanto à orientação sistematizada de enfermagem. Os resultados foram distribuídos em freqüências absolutas e relativas e analisados de acordo com os objetivos do estudo.

Abstract in English:

This study was made in an outpatient treatment unit, with two groups of the patients with arterial hypertension and the objective was to identify the orientations about medications, diet, physical activity, smoke and drink alcoholic and to verify the reaction of the clients to systematic orientation by nurses. The results obtained had been presented in the tables distributed in the absolute and relative frequencies and analysed forward to the objectives of the study.

Estuda-se a ansiedade-estado de um grupo de enfermeiras pediátricas que se reuniram para discutir suas preocupações de trabalho. A ansiedade-estado, verificada através da aplicação de Inventário de Ansiedade Traço-Estado de SPIELBERGER, indicou redução significativa no estado de ansiedade no final das sessões de grupo.

Abstract in English:

State-anxiety was studied in a group of pediatric nurses who met to discuss their worries about work. State-anxiety was verified though the administration of State-Trait Anxiety Inventory of SPIELBERG; the results indicated a significant reduction of state-anxiety at the end of the sessions.

O ensino é uma das formas utilizadas para desencadear processo de mudança — mudança esta extremamente necessária na assistência de enfermagem psiquiátrica. Dai é que surgiu a idéia deste estudo, a ser feito com os enfermeiros que trabalham em hospitais psiquiátricos, a fim de opinarem sobre o conteúdo de um programa de Especialização em Enfermagem Psiquiátrica, com base em suas dificuldades e aspirações.

Because education is one of the means to bring about the process of change, a process extremely necessary in psychiatric nursing, the authors decided to find out the opinion of nurses in psychiatric hospitals about the recommended contents of a program of specialization on the subject, to be based on the difficulties found in their work.

A seguir, reverte o foco da análise para o interior da enfermagem, identificando a heterogeneidade que a caracteriza, apontando as suas contradições e finaliza a discussão com a questão referente ao processo de sindicalização na área.

This article introduces some preliminary considerations about Brazilian nursing and searches the articulation of the social practice with a specific structure and conjuncture. Then it analyses the nursing situation, identifying the heterogeneity which characterizes it, pointing out its contradictions; and finally it discusses the question of unions of nurses.

Analisamos o fenômeno das enchentes no município de São Paulo a partir de dados referentes ao surto de leptospirose humana ocorrido em 1983, nessa região. A nosso ver, esse problema deve continuar merecendo a atenção dos técnicos e dos políticos em relação às necessidades de saúde da população.

The occurence of floods in São Paulo is analysed in this article after the existing data on the 1983 outbreak of hitman leptospirosis. This problem deserves the attention and interest of sanitarians and politicians because of its danger to the people's health.

Nesta terceira parle são apresentados o final da análise, a discussão dos resultados e as conclusões do estudo. Na discussão são incluídos os resultados referentes ao preparo profissional específico das enfermeiras avaliadoras e respectivas enfermeiras avaliadas, a periodicidade das avaliações, as técnicas e os métodos utilizados pelas enfermeiras no processo avaliativo, os instrumentos utilizados na avaliação de desempenho e as reações à avaliação. A bibliografia pertinente é apresentada no decorrer da discussão dos resultados.

In this third part of this study the final part of the analysis, the discussion of the results and the conclusions are presented. The discussion involves the results regarding the specific professional capability of the evaluating nurses and of the respective evaluated nurses; the periodicity of the evaluations, the technics and methodology utilized by nurses in the evaluation process; the instruments used in the performance evaluation process and the reactions to the evaluation. The respective bibliography is presented along with the discussion of the results.
