General considerations are made about parenteral injections. The study explains, in detail, the intramuscular (deltoid, dorsogluteal, lateral-ventro-gluteal or Hochstetter and femoral-lateral), endovenous, subcutaneous and intradermic injections.

About each via the study presents definition, conditions of the drugs, selections of materials, indications, locales with anatomic details and the procedure, including the physical preparation of patient and material.

More common accidents encountered in each via are described and detailed.

Tables I and II present data regarding type of needles most suitable in light of the drug, age, thickness of subcutaneous tissue and priorities of the locale.
