RANGE OF MOTION ANALISES IN CHILDRENPurpose: to verify the parameters of amplitude of the mandibular movements: opening, laterotrusion and protrusion in children, with intention to determine the normality standards and to incorporate them in our clinical routine.
Methods: evaluation of 142 children of 6 to the 12 years of age, being 78 male and 64 of the female. The children had been excluded who had presented signs and symptoms of clutter to temporomandibular (DTM). For verification of the amplitude it was used as tool of metal.
Results: the amplitude average of mandibular movements found were: opening 48,33 mm, laterotrusion 7,85 mm and protrusion 8,41 mm. The minimum opening mouth found was 36 mm, the laterotrusion 4 mm and protrusion 5 mm.
Conclusion: the range of motion analyses in children, magnify in accordance with the age.
