Open-access To: 24-hour intraocular pressure monitoring: past, present and future

Para: Monitoramento da pressão intraocular 24 horas: passado, presente e futuro

Dear Editors,

I have read the interesting editorial by Dr. Sebastião Cronember entitled: "24-hour intraocular pressure monitoring: past, present and future".(1) In Argentina, we have been using a daily curve strategy for 20 years that I published in the European Journal of Ophthalmology.(2) It is available on PubMed as of 2012. The first recording in the morning was made at 8 a.m. in a lying position, after 30 minutes in that position and monitoring various patient and environmental conditions. Then, we performed three more recordings with the patient in a sitting position throughout the same day. This article was omitted in this valuable review of the daily curve.
