Theory and construction of a simple electrostatic generator

Abstract

In order to obtain a potential difference of tens of thousands of volts, electrostatic generators can be used. In this work, we describe how to make a simple electrostatic generator, whose working principle is based on electrification by friction. Moreover, we also describe how to estimate the expected values for both the produced voltage and the generated electric current by this generator.
