Open-access Parasports as Content of School Physical Education: a Systematic Review

Parasports are sports practices created or modified for people with disabilities (PwD) and as a manifestation of body culture they must be present in the Physical Education curriculum at school. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the pedagogical approach and its effects on interventions related to parasports in school Physical Education. To this end, a systematic review was carried out, following the main steps proposed by PRISMA 2020, of publications in national and international academic journals. Of the 9,188 publications initially identified, 14 studies were selected. The results indicate that the investigated articles, even though they demonstrate advances in the attitudinal relationship with PwD after different types of intervention with parasports, do not address the different dimensions that involve the culture of parasports in the pedagogical treatment of this content in school Physical Education, which implies the demand for new studies.
