Integrative review of interventions with a focus on school climate

Interventions focused on school climate aim to create safe, welcoming environments conducive to interpersonal relationships, well-being, and academic performance. This study conducted an integrative review to analyze the characteristics, methodological quality, and effects of interventions promoting a positive school climate. The research included articles from 2013 to 2023, available in the PsycINFO, EBSCO, and PubMed databases, with eleven studies selected for analysis. The number of participants ranged from 21 to 15,232, and the most commonly used instrument was the Beyond Blue School Climate Questionnaire. The majority of studies were quantitative, with nine published in English. The interventions produced positive effects, such as improved relationships, reduced bullying, and more welcoming environments. Six studies met the evaluated methodological criteria. The review highlights the need for further research exploring implementation strategies and mechanisms mediating the promotion of a positive school climate, considering the target audience and context.
