Resumo: O Número Especial Parentalidade e os Desafios da Contemporaneidade reúne estudos teóricos e clínicos sobre a parentalidade diante dos desafios contemporâneos, articulando reflexões sobre as dimensões psíquicas, sociais e políticas que atravessam o cuidado e os vínculos entre pais e filhos. Os artigos abordam temas como a constituição psíquica da parentalidade, os impactos das desigualdades sociais e de gênero, as novas configurações familiares e as formas de violência que afetam os laços parentais. A partir de diferentes perspectivas teóricas, especialmente a psicanalítica, as contribuições destacam a importância das políticas públicas e das redes de apoio para o fortalecimento das funções parentais e a promoção da saúde mental na infância e na adolescência. Em síntese, o Número Especial evidencia como o foco na parentalidade contribui para compreender questões mais amplas relativas aos vínculos afetivos, às relações familiares e ao cuidado coletivo, ressaltando as redes de apoio como formas essenciais de resistência às estruturas idealizadas que reproduzem relações de poder e controle.

Abstract: The Special Issue Parenting and Challenges of Contemporary Times brings together theoretical and clinical studies on parenthood in the face of contemporary challenges, integrating reflections on the psychological, social, and political dimensions that shape caregiving and parent-child relationships. The articles address topics such as the psychic constitution of parenthood, the impact of social and gender inequalities, new family configurations, and the forms of violence that affect parental bonds. Drawing on diverse theoretical perspectives, especially psychoanalytic approaches, the contributions emphasize the importance of public policies and support networks for strengthening parental functions and promoting mental health during childhood and adolescence. In summary, the Special Issue highlights how the focus on parenthood contributes to understanding broader issues related to emotional bonds, family relationships, and collective care, underscoring support networks as essential forms of resistance to idealized social structures that reproduce relations of power and control.

Resumo O artigo tem por objetivo discutir a relevância da atenção à parentalidade nas políticas públicas em saúde, considerando que os documentos oficiais relacionados à gestação, ao nascimento e aos primeiros vínculos do bebê ainda são lacunares sobre a temática da saúde mental. Apresenta, a partir de operadores conceituais propostos pela psicanálise, algumas diretrizes, visando contribuir para a formação de profissionais da rede de saúde pública municipal. Destaca a utilização das metodologias ativas nesse processo formativo, com o propósito de despertar uma postura crítica e reflexiva dos referidos profissionais, sobre a importância da promoção de um vínculo significativo entre o bebê e seu entorno parental, como um meio de prevenir a violência intrafamiliar.

Abstract The article aims to discuss the relevance of attention to parenthood in public health policies, considering that official documents related to pregnancy, birth and the first bonds of the baby are still lacking on the theme of mental health. It presents, from the conceptual operators proposed by psychoanalysis, the training guidelines for professionals in the public health network. It highlights the use of active methodologies in this training process, in order to promote a critical and reflective posture of these professionals on the importance of promoting a significant bond of the baby with his parental environment so that it can prevent intrafamily violence.

Resumo Os percursos de crianças “naufragadas pela História”, muitas vezes separadas de seus pais de forma irreversível, ensinam sobre formas de construção de si próprias. A partir destas experiências, o presente artigo destaca o que poderia ser pensado e implementado hoje para crianças que necessitam de medidas de proteção. Dois fragmentos de pesquisa serão colocados em perspectiva. O primeiro refere-se a "os filhos de Terezin", no qual A. Freud relatou a evolução das crianças durante mais de um ano. Trinta anos depois, Moskovitz questiona o destino destas crianças. O segundo fragmento centra-se nas crianças da Ilha da Reunião, exiladas na França metropolitana entre 1962 e 1984. Dois pontos comuns nos parecem relevantes: a filiação e afiliação e a clínica da simbolização.

Abstract Journeys of children, who were “shipwrecked by history”, can teach us about the way they built themselves as they were separated from their parents, often irreversibly. The objective of this article is to highlight what could be thought and implemented today for children in need of protection measures, based on these specific experiences. Two pieces of research are put into perspective. The first refers to “the children of Terezin”. A. Freud reported on the evolution of these children for over a year. Thirty years later, Moskovitz wanted to find out what happened to them. The second piece focuses on children of Reunion Island, exiled to mainland France. Two salient points are common: filiation and affiliation; the clinic of symbolization.

Resumo Pretende-se realizar uma revisão temática da literatura analisando o processo da maternidade em três fases: gravidez, parto e pós-parto. Destaque especial é dado ao trabalho que o aparelho psíquico materno deve assumir ao gerenciar as solicitações advindas do reencontro com conteúdo arcaicos do seu passado durante a gestação, no trabalho de parto e no exercício da maternagem no encontro com o bebê. Busca-se engendrar uma discussão teórica sensível, à luz da psicanálise, sobre a travessia subjetiva da maternidade, suas complexidades, encontros e desencontros. Levando em consideração que as habilidades necessárias aos cuidados com o bebê envolvem, a capacidade de rêverie, a transmissão psíquica transgeracional e a história de trocas intersubjetivas entre a mãe e os seus próprios cuidadores.

Abstract This article aims to analyze three fundamental phases of motherhood: pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Special emphasis is placed on the work that the maternal psychic apparatus must undertake in managing the demands arising from the reunion with archaic contents from their past during pregnancy, in the process of childbirth, and in the exercise of mothering when engaging with the baby. Our goal is to foster a thoughtful theoretical discussion, drawing from psychoanalysis, about the subjective journey of motherhood, with its intricate complexities, connections, and disconnections. This exploration considers that the skills required for baby care involve: ability of reverie, transmission of psychological aspects across generations, and the history of interpersonal exchanges between the mother and her own caregivers.

Resumo A intervenção do Estado em algumas famílias é atravessada por estigmas e crenças arraigadas no Brasil. Gestar um bebê é distinto de constituir com ele um vínculo de parentalidade. A partir dos dispositivos legais para intervir com famílias “não protetivas" ou que manifestam desejo da entrega voluntária em adoção, propomos uma leitura crítica sobre como a atuação estatal afeta a parentalidade. Realizou-se estudo de dois casos a partir de registros e entrevistas com a equipe de um serviço de acolhimento familiar. A despeito da legislação contemplar direitos reprodutivos e de convivência familiar e comunitária, a prática de muitos profissionais ameaça o direito de algumas mulheres pobres, com histórico de violências, sofrimento mental e/ou uso de drogas, criarem seus filhos.

Abstract State intervention in some families in Brazil is crossed by stigmas and ingrained beliefs. Giving birth to a baby is different from forming a parenting bond. Based on the legal devices to intervene with "non-protective" families or those who express a desire for voluntary adoption surrender, we propose a critical reading of how the State action affects parenting. A study of two cases was carried out based on records and interviews with the team of a foster care service. Despite the legislation contemplating reproductive rights, family and community rights, the practice of many professionals threatens the rights of some poor women, with history of violence, mental suffering and/or drug use, to raise their children.

Resumo As proposições teóricas recentes na documentação científica e nas observações clínicas sugerem que o surgimento de traços de personalidade limitados durante a infância pode ocorrer em contextos de parentalidade diversos. Em alguns casos, os cuidadores adotam práticas traumáticas para a criança. Por este, o limite de funcionamento tem uma forma de adaptação que permite a sobrevivência psíquica em um ambiente caótico. Em outras circunstâncias, a parentalidade pode ser qualificada de normal, é certo que os pais dispõem de capacidades satisfatórias. As experiências relacionadas com o surgimento de traços de personalidade limitados ocorrem neste caso originado nas vulnerabilidades relacionadas ao temperamento do bebê e as experiências relacionadas resultantes. Duas ilustrações clínicas apoiarão essas reflexões teóricas.

Résumé Les propositions théoriques recensées dans la documentation scientifique et nos observations cliniques suggèrent que l’émergence des traits de personnalité limite durant l’enfance peut advenir dans le contexte de parentalités diverses. Dans certains cas, les figures de soins adoptent des pratiques traumatiques pour l’enfant. Pour celui-ci, le fonctionnement limite s’avère alors une forme d’adaptation qui permet sa survie psychique au sein d’un environnement chaotique. En d’autres circonstances, la parentalité peut être qualifiée de normale, c’est-à-dire que les parents disposent de capacités satisfaisantes. Les expériences relationnelles qui mènent à l’émergence des traits de personnalité limite prennent dans ce cas origine dans les vulnérabilités liées au tempérament de l’enfant et les expériences relationnelles qui en résultent. Deux illustrations cliniques appuieront ces réflexions théoriques.

Abstract The theoretical and scientific literature review along with our clinical observations suggest that the emergence of borderline personality features during childhood can occur in the context of different parenthoods. In some cases, the caregivers adopt practices that are traumatic for the child. For the latter, borderline functioning proves to be a form of adaptation, allowing the child’s psychic survival within a chaotic environment. In other circumstances, parenthood can be described as normal because the parents have good enough caring abilities. In this case, the relational experiences that lead to the emergence of borderline personality features originate in the vulnerabilities related to the child’s temperament and the resulting relational experiences. Two clinical illustrations will support these theoretical reflections.

Resumo Os desenvolvimentos legislativos e sociais levaram à prevenção, à supervisão e ao cuidado das mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica, bem como das crianças expostas a ela, e à consideração da paternidade dos agressores. O objetivo de nosso estudo é lançar luz sobre a paternidade deses sujeitos, em particular sua experiência psicológica, o fato de serem pais. Trinta infratores condenados a penas de prisão com medidas psicoeducativas ou terapêuticas associadas foram entrevistados. As entrevistas semi-diretivas, objeto de uma dupla análise lexical e temática (18), mostram que o exercício e a prática da paternidade deses sujeitos fazem parte de experiências traumáticas da infância. Dois casos clínicos destacam a necessidade de incentivar a subjetivação de sua relação com o outro, seu sofrimento e sua paternidade, utilizando mecanismos terapêuticos genuínos.

Résumé Des évolutions législatives et sociales ont conduit à prévenir, encadrer et prendre en charge les femmes victimes de violences conjugales autant que les enfants exposés à celles-ci et à considérer la parentalité des auteurs. L’objectif de notre étude est d’éclairer la parentalité de ces sujets en particulier son expérience psychique, leur être-père. Trente auteurs condamnés à des peines avec des mesures psychoéducatives ou thérapeutiques associées ont été rencontrés. Les entretiens semi-directifs, objets d’une double analyse lexicale et thématique (18), montrent que l’exercice et la pratique de la parentalité de ces sujets s’inscrivent dans des expériences infantiles traumatiques. Deux cas cliniques soulignent la nécessité de favoriser la subjectivation de leur lien à l’autre, de leur souffrance et de leur être-père grâce à de véritables dispositifs thérapeutiques.

Abstract Legislative and social developments have led to attempts to prevent domestic violence and provide more support and care for female victims and children exposed to such violence, as well as to scrutiny of the parenting of perpetrators. The aim of our study is to shed light on the parenting of these subjects, and particularly their psychological experience, their 'being a father'. Thirty offenders sentenced to terms of imprisonment combined with psycho-educational or treatment measures were interviewed. The semi-structured interviews, the subject of a double lexical and thematic analysis (18), show that these subjects' exercise and practice of parenting are linked to traumatic childhood experiences. Two clinical cases highlight the need to encourage the subjectification of their relationship with the partner, their suffering and their fatherhood through genuine treatment measures.

Résumé Dans cet article nous présentons les premiers résultats d'une recherche sur la parentalité des mères victimes de violences conjugales. L'objectif principal est d'améliorer le soutien aux mères. Le protocole de recherche, d'une durée de 12 mois, comprend des entretiens cliniques, des méthodes projectives (génogramme, CAT et TAT) et la Relation Scale Questionnaire. Nous présentons ici les résultats obtenus à partir de 7 entretiens cliniques avec les mères et d'une étude de cas. Les résultats montrent un niveau élevé d'insécurité, une instabilité des repères par rapport à la réalité sociale et psychologique et une détérioration des ressources internes. L'accompagnement des mères victimes et de leur parentalité doit donc se faire non seulement sur le plan socio-économique, mais aussi sur le plan psychologique, afin de les aider à se reconstruire.

Abstract In this paper we present the first results of a research on the parenthood of mothers who are victims of conjugal violence. The main objective is to improve support for mothers. The 12-month research protocol includes clinical interviews, projective methods (genogram, CAT and TAT) and the Relation Scale Questionnaire. We present here the results obtained from 7 clinical interviews with the mothers and a case study. The results show a high level of insecurity, unstable points of reference in terms of social and psychological reality, and a deterioration in internal resources. Support for victimized mothers and their parenthood must therefore be provided not only on a socio-economic level, but also on a psychological level, to help them rebuild their lives.

Resumo Este artigo é um ensaio teórico que visa pensar criticamente a parentalidade sob o prisma da mulher trabalhadora brasileira no exercício da maternidade. Para tanto, o paradigma de pensamento da psicanálise foi convocado a fim de problematizar a dimensão sociopolítica encontrada pela mulher no Brasil e a influência dos dispositivos discursivos neoliberais e seus efeitos no psiquismo. Conclui-se que, sob o imperativo do gozo da cultura contemporânea, a mulher brasileira está por conta própria na busca por corresponder ao ideal de mulher contemporânea de mãe dedicada e profissional de sucesso, conduzindo-a inevitavelmente à exploração de seu trabalho reprodutivo

Abstract This article is a theoretical essay aimed at critical thinking about parenthood from the perspective of Brazilian working women in the exercise of motherhood. To this end, the paradigm of psychoanalysis was used to problematize the socio-political dimension encountered by women in Brazil and the influence of neoliberal discursive devices and their effects on the psyche. The conclusion is that, under the rule of enjoyment in contemporary culture, Brazilian women are on their own in their quest to live up to the ideal of contemporary women as dedicated mothers and successful professionals, inevitably leading them to exploit their reproductive work

Resumo Trabalhar em uma maternidade envolve a escuta dos efeitos mobilizadores que a chegada de um filho tem sobre a vida psíquica dos pais. O tempo de espera de uma criança também inclui um tempo de construção da parentalidade. A questão que aqui levantamos é o desafio da inscrição na parentalidade diante de situações de perdas perinatais. No caso de bebês natimortos ou que nascem e vivem por pouco tempo, os pais se deparam com um duplo encontro com o real: a chegada do bebê que é, por sua vez, também uma despedida. Propomos retomar a noção de trauma na psicanálise a fim de discutir alguns aspectos em torno dos impactos da perda perinatal para a inscrição na parentalidade.

Abstract Working in a maternity hospital involves listening to the mobilizing effects of a baby’s arrival on parents' psychic condition. Waiting for a baby is also a parenthood-building time. The aim of the current study is to address the challenge of parenthood in perinatal loss cases. Parents face the real twice when it comes to stillborn babies, or babies who are born alive and live for a short period-of-time, since the baby’s arrival is also a farewell. We herein return to the concept of trauma in psychoanalysis to address some aspects of perinatal loss impact on parenthood.

Resumo A pandemia colocou para todos a parentalidade em lugar vulnerável e gerou novos desafios para a vivência da perinatalidade e parentalidade para as mulheres. Este estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa-ação, transversal, de abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, que apresentará os resultados da fase final da pesquisa, referentes à avaliação dos efeitos do Pré-natal Psicológico (PNP) na redução do sofrimento psíquico materno. Os resultados mostraram-se positivos quanto à eficácia do PNP na prevenção da depressão pós-parto e redução do sofrimento psíquico, no que tange às questões da perinatalidade e parentalidade, mesmo em período de pandemia.

Abstract The pandemic has put parenthood in a vulnerable place for everyone, generating new challenges for women's experience of perinatality and parenthood. This study is an action research, cross-sectional, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, which will present the results of the final phase of the research, referring to the evaluation of the effects of Psychological Prenatal Care (PNP) in reducing maternal psychological distress. The results were positive in terms of the effectiveness of PNP in preventing postpartum depression and reducing psychological distress with regard to perinatal and parenting issues, even during the pandemic.

Resumo O presente texto traz algumas reflexões acerca da parentalidade e da perinatalidade enquanto dimensões independentes. O nascimento de uma criança não implica necessariamente o nascimento de uma mãe. A partir disso, discute-se que a entrada na posição parental depende de um ato de nomeação, que é irreversível. Para a discussão, utilizamos um caso clínico atendido pelo Projeto Escuta Perinatal, no Centro de Atendimento e Estudos Psicológicos da Universidade de Brasília. O caso refere-se a uma puérpera de 23 anos, que se queixa de uma dificuldade em sentir afeto pela filha recém-nascida: “não sinto amor por ela”. Foi possível perceber uma grande idealização da maternidade, assim como entraves na assunção à posição parental.

Abstact This text brings some reflections on parenthood and perinatality as independent dimensions. The birth of a child does not necessarily imply the birth of a mother. From this, it is discussed that entry into the parental position depends on an act of naming, which is irreversible. For the discussion, we use a clinical case attended by the Perinatal Listening Project, at the Center for Assistance and Psychological Studies at the University of Brasília. The case refers to a 23-year-old postpartum woman, who complains of difficulty in feeling affection for her newborn daughter “I don’t feel love for her”. A great idealization of motherhood was noticed, as well as barriers to assume the parental position.
