SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL PRAXIS: TOWARDS A POLITICAL PSYCHOLOGY OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS FROM THE BRAZILIAN WESTERN AMAZONThe climate crisis stands as one of humanity’s greatest challenges in the 21st century. The possibilities for dealing with such a crisis require structural changes in the global socioeconomic organization . This article aims to propose a category of analysis that contributes to the development of a political psychology of the climate crisis, rooted in Marxist tradition and inspired by the struggles of the peoples of the Amazon rainforest. The empirical corpus consisted of 27 interviews, participant observations, and documentary research addressing organizations with socio-environmental agendas in the Acre River Valley region. Based on corpus analysis and bibliographical studies, the category of socio-environmental praxis is proposed. The multiplicity of actors and repertoires involved in the socioenvironmental struggle is highlighted. The study seeks to contribute to the articulation of this diversity in favor of strengthening actions aimed at promoting Buen Vivir and protecting the planet’s habitability.
