Open-access EFFECTS OF URBAN VIOLENCE DYNAMICS ON YOUNG PEOPLE SERVING SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL MEASURES

The aim of this article is to analyze the effects of the dynamics of urban violence on the daily lives of young residents of the city of Fortaleza who are accused of committing a criminal act and are serving socio-educational measures. We used cartography as research-inter(in)vention method. We used field diaries, narrative interviews and analysis inspired by cartography itself. The results and discussions point to the production of life trajectories amidst the crossfire between public security and the dispute between criminal factions, so that poor black youth are being the most victimized, as well as to structural updates such as machismo and sexism in the illicit markets, which have affected the daily lives of young people. We conclude that, based on the narratives of adolescents, the restriction of freedom, the worsening of the violations of social rights, death in wait and the modes of juvenile subjectivation are the main effects of violence in their daily lives.
