Abstract

The electoral reforms implemented in some Latin American countries at the 90's have had a strong impact over the women access to elected positions, although there is not a consensus about the electoral systems ' components that affect the women participation in politics through especific electoral laws. This article analyses the effects of electoral mechanisms on women's participation in politics in some municiaplities in Argentina.
