LATINCORR & INTERCORR 2023 – International Corrosion Congress This supplement contains a selection of papers presented at LATINCORR & INTERCORR 20231 – International Corrosion Congress, which was held from November 5 to 8, 2023, in Windsor Barra Hotel, Rio de Janeiro, promoted by the Brazilian Corrosion Association – ABRACO2 – in partnership with the Association for Materials Protection and Performance – AMPP.
INTERCORR1 – International Corrosion Congress - is a biennial event of ABRACO2. It is recognized as a reference for developing the industrial sector, being an excellent forum for presenting new technologies, disseminating knowledge, prospecting brands and business opportunities, and expanding relationships. The objective is to encourage the exchange of information between researchers, technicians, professionals, and companies with national and global reach.
The 2023 edition had approximately 600 participants, with a significant presence from an international audience, 170 paper presentations, 4 plenary conferences, and 3 technical lectures. By bringing together experts, researchers, and industry leaders, LATINCORR & INTERCORR 20232 reinforced the importance of awareness and ongoing education on corrosion prevention practices, thus contributing directly to strengthening the sector, driving the adoption of safer, more economical, and environmentally friendly responsible practices. In this way, we understand that the synergy between industry and academia promoted during the meeting will undoubtedly result in innovative advances for the future of corrosion prevention, benefiting the entire production chain.
Therefore, we express our sincere gratitude to the professionals, committee members, paper evaluators, moderators, and vice-moderators of the technical sessions who, with their knowledge, expertise, and dedication, helped define a high-quality program and ensured the excellence of the technical presentations.
