Open-access Methodological proposal for the analysis of journalistic blogs

Abstract

This paper presents a methodology proposal for the analysis of journalistic blogs (j-blog) hosted on media's Web. The proposal stems from the observation and the comparative analysis of ten journalistic blogs, during the period of doctoral research. Refers to the combined use of investigative techniques, such as the Web content analysis, open systematic observation, field word and in-depth interview. Thanks to its capacity of breadth and depth, the Web content analysis reveals itself as a research technique that allows the researcher to verify the proper elements of the blog as the journalistic aspects of the content published. The other techniques have a complementary function. Through the application of the methodology detailed in this article, has been able to verify different aspects of the format, content and journalistic elements of the j-blogs.
