An essay on local development from the social activation and the public governance

This essay proposes the reflection on the public governance and the social activation as dimensions necessary to promote local development. From the literature review, we identified the epistemology of social participation and public governance, characterizing them within the scope of the Brazilian State and problematizing them in the light of local development. We conclude that social activation and public governance are inducers of local development.
