Local Development and the expansion of multinational companies. Discussion based on two municipalities of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

The present essay shows some impacts of the implementation of a global agro-food enterprise in two municipalities in the South-east of Mato Grosso do Sul. The discussion uses field interviews and socio-economic data to point to an idea of Local Development that fosters a participatory and autonomous social dynamics, able to face the challenges of the contemporary world.
