The Capricorn Bioceanic Corridor is one of the main strategic projects for South American integration, connecting Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile through a road corridor with access to Pacific Ocean ports. This article analyzes the geopolitical impacts of this project for the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, guided by the following question: how can the Bioceanic Corridor reshape the State’s regional and international insertion and what are the economic effects for Brazil? The hypothesis is that the consolidation of the route will establish Mato Grosso do Sul as a transcontinental logistics hub, with gains in competitiveness, investment attraction, and diversification of trade partners. The methodology adopted is qualitative, based on literature review, documentary analysis, and the collection of secondary data. The results indicate that the Corridor represents a viable alternative to the route through the Port of Chancay (Peru), in addition to promoting the reduction of the “Brazil Cost” and the improvement of regional infrastructure. As a limitation, institutional instability among partner countries and financing challenges are highlighted. The research demonstrates the strategic value of the route and its potential to reshape Brazil’s position in South American and international trade.
