The child’s independent mobility in urban centers

Decreased of mobility independent children in large urban centers has been detected and related to factors such as violence and lack of appropriate spaces for children. Through international literature review, it was identified that mobility stimulates cognitive, social and motor child development and that there is need for policy and urban planning that provide safe spaces and greater participation of the child in the city.
