Open-access Smart municipality for sustainable local development from knowledge management

In a knowledge-based society, the university becomes a key element of the innovation system, both as a provider of human talent and as a promoter of new technologies. The university, as a key knowledge actor, trains new professionals through the dissemination, production, generation, and use of knowledge. The university knowledge is committed to development in all its dimensions, and this with the purpose to move towards a knowledge-based development model, which is essential in achieving Smart Municipalities for a local development that requires the active participation of all social actors involved in these processes for the generation of knowledge, in each of the contexts of action.
