Open-access Performing entities and destabilization: local development beyond mainstream

After identifying a particular context in the northwestern portion of Minas Gerais, State in Brazil characterized by relative artistic-cultural effervescence, we seek with this article to analyze the strategic uses of intangible cultural heritage. The performative appeal to the literature and the persuasive adherence to creative economy's discourse take part on these strategies. Our observation suggests some reflections on the authorship and authenticity of local actions.
