Open-access The Antônio Confusão affair: a farmer and an ex-slave in the bars of Justice. For an analysis of post-abolition through the Crimes Processes of the Public and Historical Archives of Rio Claro

The present article intends to study and to know better the history of relations between ethnic groups in immigration societies. The study tries to analyze the process of differentiation and daily relations between immigrants, blacks and white Brazilians in the city of Rio Claro, in the West of São Paulo, in the last years before Abolition and in the first decades immediately after that event (1887-1914).
