Resumo Neste texto, indicamos a importância da hipótese cultural de estrutura de sentimento, de Raymond Williams, para as discussões e análises que tomam a noção de historicidade como decisiva para as reflexões em torno das práticas comunicativas e culturais. Partimos do reconhecimento de que tal noção permite levar em consideração distintas temporalidades que marcam todo processo social e oferece elementos para pensar metodologicamente o trabalho com textos/textualidades e formas da comunicação, em articulação com a dimensãopolítica que deve marcar essa iniciativa. Elegemos, em nosso percurso, três entradas temáticas para refletirmos a partir, com e para além de Williams: 1) o gesto epistemológico em torno da noção de estrutura de sentimento; 2) a apreensão das determinações e determinismos tecnológicos; 3) sua contribuição para compreendermos os engajamentos identitários, em articulação com paisagens afetivas, aspectos decisivos para se pensar o contemporâneo

Abstract This paper points out the importance of Raymond Williams’ cultural hypothesis of structure of feeling for the discussions and analyses that take the notion of historicity as decisive for the reflections on communicative and cultural practices. We start from the recognition that this notion allows to take into account different temporalities that mark every social process and offers elements to think methodologically the work with texts / textualities and forms of communication in articulation with the political dimension that should mark such an initiative. We chose in our course three thematic inputs to reflectfrom, with and in addition to Williams: 1) the epistemological gesture around the notion of structure of feeling; 2) the seizure of determinations and technological determinisms; 3) its contribution to understand contemporary identity engagements in articulation with affective landscapes, decisive aspects to think contemporaneity.

Resumo Neste artigo, buscamos refletir sobre a tradição como um problema a ser enfrentado nos estudos em Comunicação. A partir da retomada de dois importantes pensamentos sobre o tema, nas obras de Raymond Williams e de Paul Ricoeur, explicitamos a dimensão interpretativa e os complexos movimentos temporais presentes na tradição. A retomada desses autores, de filiações e preocupações teóricas bem diversas, não visa buscar conexões entre eles, mas mostrar como ambos, a seu modo, entendem a tradição como algo instável, imersa em conflitos epistêmicos, éticos e ideológicos e encontram, na disputa sobre o passado, a configuração do presente e a projeção de futuros.

Abstract In this study, we aim to reflect on tradition as a problem to be faced in Communication studies. Based on a resumption of two important thoughts on tradition, in the works of Raymond Williams and Paul Riceour, we describe the interpretative dimension and complex temporal movements present in tradition (unpleasant repetition of “tradition”. A resumption of these authors, affiliations and quite diverse theoretical concerns are not aimed at seekingconnections between them, but to show how both, in their way, understand tradition as something unstable, immersed in epistemic, ethical and ideological conflicts, and in the dispute on the past, the configuration of the present and projection of the future.

Resumo Este artigo propõe uma análise das experiências do tempo registradas no livro Vozes de Tchernóbil, de Svetlana Aleksiévitch. A partir da expressão “catástrofe do tempo”, que a própria autora utiliza para referir-se ao desastre nuclear, buscamos entender de que maneiras as narrativas presentes na obra tentam lidar com a potência desse acontecimento-limite, que rompe com os parâmetros de compreensão temporal antes estabelecidos. Na leitura crítica dos esforços de comunicação das testemunhas ouvidas e nos excertos autorreferentes de Aleksiévitch, propomos uma reflexão sobre as historicidades possíveis diante da incompreensibilidade da catástrofe, por meio da narrativa e do cotidiano.

Abstract In this paper, we propose an analysis of the experiences of time registered in the book Voices from Chernobyl, by Svetlana Alexievich. From the expression “a catastrophe of time”, that Alexievich uses to refer to the nuclear disaster, we try to understand how the narratives found in the book try to deal with the potency of this terminal event, which breaks with the parameters of temporal comprehension previously established. By doing a critical reading ofthe communicative efforts made by the witnesses and of Alexievich’s self-referential excerpts, we propose a reflection on the possible historicities in the face of the incomprehensibility of the catastrophe, through narrative and daily life.

Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é discutir, a partir do DVD comemorativo dos 15 anos da Banda Calypso, a proposição da fundação de uma tradição de música popular pelo grupo paraense. Para isso, em um primeiro momento, retomaremos o conceito de “descarga acústica” para entender a peculiaridade do discurso do grupo frente a tradições intelectuais já estabelecidas. Em seguida, abordaremos os mecanismos visuais e sonoros acionados pela Calypso no desdobramento de matrizes temporais específicas. Isso permitirá refletir como essas temporalidades são inscritas na textualidade do próprio DVD. Entendemos que o “brega”, compreendido a partir de uma referência à matriz melodramática, consegue urdir tempos aparentemente desconexos e se torna um eixo condutor da narrativa.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to discuss the proposal to found a tradition of popular music made by Banda Calpyso in its 15-year commemorative DVD. Therefore, we seek to resignify the concept of “acoustic release “ in order to understand the peculiarities of the discourse engendered by this group, especially in the questioning of established academic traditions. Then, we analyze the visual and sound mechanisms triggered by Calypso to configure specific temporalities. Our proposition is that the “brega”, understood as a reference to a melodramatic matrix, can manage to unite seemingly disconnected times and becomesa guiding axis of the narrative.

Resumo O presente texto analisa as produções audiovisuais da Equipe Iskálifá, coletivo formado por jovens moradores de São Félix-BA, sob a ótica das mediações sociais e mutações culturais, nos termos de Jesus Martin-Barbero. O percurso analítico identifica como a contradição da luta cultural opera em diferentes temporalidades na configuração dos produtos. O objetivo é evidenciar o duplo esforço implicado, de produção de material audiovisual e de sujeitos produtores que revelam movimentos do tempo transpassados por valores, sentidos e práticas hegemônicas, alternativas e oposicionais.

Abstract This paper analyzes the audiovisual productions of Equipe Iskálifá, a group formed by young residents of São Félix-BA, from the standpoint of social mediations and cultural mutations, in the terms of Jesus Martin-Barbero. The analytical course identifies how the contradiction of cultural struggle operates in different temporalities in the configuration of products. The objective is to highlight the implied double effort of production of audiovisual material and subjects, and reveal time movements passed through values, meanings and alternative and oppositional hegemonic practices.

Abstract This analytical paper proposes reflection on transformations of the television conversation operated on YouTube, with special interest in bodies that position themselves as dissidents. It takes as its empirical object three channels - Põe na Roda [Talk to All], Canal das Bee [Bee Channel] and Drag-se [Drag yourself] - that stress mediatic conventions of masculinities and femininities in relation to matrices of talk show and debate programs. The study points to places of reinforcement of the binary convention that marks the television bodies, despite the interest in identifying YouTube traffic places. It presents a historicized approach to the phenomenon, investing in the notion of television genre as a figure of historicities, in association with the sense of performance and self-reports.

Resumo Este artigo investiga como se configuram as masculinidades na série de televisão The Handmaid’s tale. A partir da percepção de que o programa sugere a falência da ideia moderna de progresso, observamos como o futuro na narrativa se mostra amedrontador por seu passadismo, vez que há uma retomada de antigos projetos e visões de mundo para embasar a religiosa República de Gilead, onde se passa a trama. Numa tensão entre utopia, distopia e retrotopia, a busca pela reafirmação de um ideal de masculinidade dá o tom do regime autoritário, no qual os homens estabelecem o poder a partir da subjugação da mulher, doenrijecimento do conceito de família e do controle do espaço.

Abstract This paper investigates how to configure masculinities in the TV series The Handmaid’s Tale. From the perception that the show suggests the failure of the modern idea of progress, we observe how the future in the narrative is frightening by its “pastness”, since there is a resumption of old projects and worldviews to base the religious Republic of Gilead, where the plot takes place. In a tension between utopia, dystopia and retrotopia, the search for the reaffirmation of an ideal of masculinity sets the tone of the authoritarian regime, in which men establish power from the subjugation of women, from the hardening of the concept of family and from control of space.

Resumo Este texto examina as ações que levaram à condenação, à prisão e ao impedimento da candidatura à presidência em 2018 do ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, tomando como referência o conceito de acontecimento entendido como violência, bem como as dimensões de violência na política. Os acontecimentos envolvendo Lula são identificados como práticas de lawfare, guerra jurídica com participação da mídia, que visa minar pessoas ou instituições. Teoricamente, trabalhamos com o conceito de acontecimento e com as relações entre política e violência. Como metodologia, além de revisão conceitual, recorremos a um conjunto de notícias que abordaram os acontecimentos envolvendo Lula.

Abstract This paper examines the actions that led to the condemnation, arrest and impediment of the candidacy for the presidency in 2018 of the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, taking as reference the concept of event understood as violence, as well as the dimensions of violence in politics. The events surrounding Lula have been identified as practices of lawfare, legal warfare withmedia participation that aims to undermine people or institutions. Theoretically, we take notions of events and the relations between politics and violence. As a methodology, in addition to conceptual review, we used a set of news that addressed the events involving Lula.

Resumo Discute-se, no presente texto, a articulação entre tempo e comunicação. Em uma primeira parte, são desenhados dois paradigmas de compreensão da relação entre comunicação e tempo: um paradigma dito epocalista, que será fortemente criticado, e um paradigma alternativo, que opera de modo não-linear e mais atento às diferenças existentes. Na segunda parte, pensa-se a questão da diferença na contemporaneidade brasileira.

Abstract The paper discusses the relationship between time and communication. First of all, two possible paradigms of comprehension of this relationship are indicated: the first one, which is called epochalist, will be strongly criticized; the second one, which emphasizes differences, operates in a non-linear mode and is more akin to the perspective defended by the paper. After that, the problem of difference in Brazilian contemporaneity is analyzed.
