Open-access Hybrid Static Converter For Photovoltaic Solar Generation Systems With Energy Storage

This paper proposes a new hybrid single-phase converter that integrates photovoltaic solar energy processing with a battery storage system to supply alternating current loads. The proposed topology employs a reduced number of semiconductor switches compared to conventional structures commonly used in photovoltaic systems. The operating principle, component design, and dynamic modeling are described in detail. A modulation strategy is also introduced to generate the converter’s switching signals. Furthermore, a control system is developed to ensure decoupled operation among the converter’s three ports. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed converter.
