Open-access Configuration of “Intersexuality” in the Chilean Context: Approaches, Paradigms and Institutional Devices Controlling the Experience(s)

This article presents an institutional ethnography carried out between 2022 and 2024, within the framework of governmental debates on the intersex issue in Chile. The data obtained were systematized using the technique of Discursive Coalitions (DC) with the aim of identifying the power relations and alliances that are configured in the current political arena, and how these influence the intersex experience in the territory. The findings presented here invite us to reflect on whether current social practices allow the possibility of embodying another intersex body, different from the reified experience and useful for the creation of policies.
