This paper reviews the use of eye-tracking technique in psycholinguistic research of online language processing. We briefly describe the operation of tracking equipment and the dynamics of oculomotor behavior. From a theoretical perspective, we discuss the informativeness of behavioral measures obtained through eye-tracking, considering advantages and disadvantages of this technique. We argue that eye tracking can be seen as an important tool for understanding the time course of processes that take place during language comprehension.
