The aim is to evaluate the occurrence of physical violence by an intimate partner among indigenous women in the macro-region of Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, and its association with the individual factors of the women and the context of the municipalities in which the violent acts occurred. This work is a cross-sectional study carried out with reports registered in SINAN of indigenous women who suffered physical violence by an intimate partner in the Dourados macro-region, between the years 2009 to 2020. Descriptive statistics of the variables and multilevel logistic regression with random effects of the municipalities of occurrence were performed to determine the factors associated with physical violence by an intimate partner. Age (20 to 29 years and 30 to 39 years) and use of alcohol by the aggressor were positively associated with the occurrence of physical violence by an intimate partner. Pregnancy and the Gini Index were negatively associated. This study demonstrated that, in the Dourados macro-region, physical intimate partner violence against indigenous women occurs at different levels of society in the region. For the improvement of social relations, actions that reaffirm traditional culture and land regularization are important.
