Open-access THE MATHEMATICAL TRAINING OF FUTURE PEDAGOGUES IN A DISTANCE-LEARNING PROGRAM

This paper discusses findings of a study that sought to understand how future pedagogues were trained in mathematics teaching by a distance-learning program. Data were collected by means of an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, and were organized and analyzed by means of content analysis. The results indicate that participants face difficulties regarding mathematical contents, although they feel methodologically prepared. In addition, microaggressions experienced by the future pedagogues over their school life negatively affected their relationship with mathematics. The results also indicate difficulties arising from the nature of the program (i.e., distance learning), mainly due to a need for the presence of a teacher and to a feeling of loneliness.
