Open-access Aspects that interfere in structuring the accessibility at public libraries

Abstract

This paper presents the evolution of acessibility concept, firstly associated only with barrers-free projects to what is known as universal design and involves several aspects from fisical world and from digital world as well. It argues for how important is the adoption of acessibility criteria by pubic universities. From a case study at a Brasilian Federal University, focusing the aspects of information access, communication and attitude, improvements are proposed for the acessibility of public universities as a whole.
